Synopsis As Introduced
Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Makes a technical change in a Section concerning State universities.

Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the Illinois Pension Code. Provides that each pension fund or retirement system operating under this Code may, and to the extent required by federal law shall, at the request of any person entitled to receive a refund, lump-sum benefit, or other nonperiodic distribution from the pension fund or retirement system, pay the distribution (rather than pay the taxable portion of that distribution) directly to any entity that (1) is designated in writing by the person, (2) is qualified under federal law to accept an eligible rollover distribution from a qualified plan, and (3) has agreed to accept the distribution. Amends provisions concerning retirement and survivor benefits under the portable benefit package in the State Universities Article, makes various technical changes, including referring to the optional benefit choices as optional forms of payment. Effective immediately.
