Senate Sponsors: PHILIP. Short description: VEHICLE CD-EMISSION TESTING Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Vehicle Emissions Inspection Law of 1995 (Chapter 13B of the Illinois Vehicle Code). Specifies certain inspection procedures that must be followed on model year 1996 and newer vehicles equipped with OBDII on-board computer diagnostic equipment, subject to the rules of the Pollution Control Board and the Illinois Environmental Protection Agency. Repeals Chapter 13A of the Illinois Vehicle Code (now obsolete) on January 1, 2003. Also amends the Environmental Protection Act to extend the repeal date of certain provisions relating to fast-track rules under the Clean Air Act Amendments of 1990. Effective immediately.
