Senate Sponsors: PARKER. Short description: TOLL HIGHWAY-CONTRACTS-AUDITS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Toll Highway Act. Authorizes the Toll Highway Authority to enter into a contract with a unit of local government or other entity under which the Authority agrees to collect tolls or other revenues by electronic means on behalf of the entity. Requires the Authority to submit to the General Assembly, by January 1, 2003, a 20-year comprehensive strategic financial plan. Requires the Auditor General to conduct a management audit of the State's toll highway operations and management; requires the Authority to pay for the audit. Specifies certain matters to be included in the audit. Requires a report of the audit findings by December 31, 2003. Effective immediately.
