STATE EMPLOYEE LEAVE SHARING

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
Creates the State Employee Leave Sharing Act. Requires the
Department of Central Management Services to adopt rules allowing a
State employee to share unused sick, vacation, or personal time with
that employee's spouse if the spouse, whether employed by the same or
another State agency, is (i) eligible for sick, vacation, or personal
time and (ii) has used all of the sick, vacation, or personal time
   available to him or her.
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.
Authorizes leave sharing between an employee and a spouse, child,
or parent (instead of just a spouse). Requires that a spouse, child,
or parent must suffer from a catastrophic illness or injury before an
employee may transfer leave time to that person.
