Senate Sponsors: HALVORSON. Short description: VEH CD-AIR BAGS-CHILDREN Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that unless one of 4 specified conditions exists, a child younger than 13 years of age must ride in the rear seat of any vehicle equipped with a passenger side airbag. Provides that failure to transport a child in the back seat of a vehicle is not contributory negligence. Provides that a vehicle may not be stopped or searched by any law enforcement officer solely on the basis of a violation or suspected violation of the provision.
