Senate Sponsors: LIGHTFORD Short description: VIOLENCE VS WOMEN-TASK FORCE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Creates the Sexual and Domestic Violence Victims Task Force Act. Requires the Governor to appoint a Sexual and Domestic Violence Victims Task Force. Requires the task force to promote partnerships between law enforcement agencies, prosecutors, the courts, and advocates for victims of domestic violence and sexual violence, for the purposes of (i) increasing outreach efforts to victims of domestic violence and sexual violence and (ii) coordinating the use of federal funding to combat violence against women. Requires the task force to recommend outreach efforts to encourage victims of domestic violence and sexual violence to report such acts of violence to law enforcement agencies and to health care providers and agencies.
