House Sponsors: COWLISHAW-WINKEL. Short description: SCH CD-UNPREDICTABLE EMERGENCY Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the School Code. Provides that the provisions of the Article concerning boundary changes is not available for a specified amount of time whenever due to an unpredictable emergency (instead of act of God) school buildings are destroyed or substantially destroyed and rendered unfit. Allows a proposition concerning a school site or building that is substantially the same as a previous proposition to be submitted more than once every 2 months if the proposition is submitted as a consequence of an unpredictable emergency (instead of act of God). Provides that if the State Superintendent of Education determines that a school district's failure to provide the minimum school term was occasioned by an unpredictable emergency (instead of act of God), the district's State aid claim need not be reduced. Effective immediately.
