House Sponsors: DAVIS,STEVE. Short description: VEH CD-INSURANCE RECORDS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code. Provides that by July 1, 2003, all licensed insurance companies in this State shall provide to the Secretary of State a record of all motor vehicle liability policies in effect on the date the information is provided. Provides for monthly reporting of all policies issued or canceled. Specifies information to be included in the reports. Provides that the Department of Insurance may assess a fine of $1,000 per day of noncompliance with any of the new requirements. FISCAL NOTE (Secretary of State) HB 4925 would have a fiscal impact of approximately $40,000.
