Short description: 
VEH CD-DUI-WITHDRAW BLOOD                                                  

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends  the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code.  Provides  that,  upon  the      
   specific request of a law enforcement officer, a physician  authorized      
   to  practice  medicine, a registered nurse, or other person authorized      
   by the relevant provision to withdraw blood must withdraw  a  person's      
   blood for testing purposes to ascertain the presence of alcohol, other      
   drugs,  or  intoxicating  compounds.  In  provisions  stating  that an      
   authorized person who withdraws blood or collects urine is not civilly      
   liable for damages when he or she, in good faith, withdraws  blood  or      
   collects  urine  for  evidentiary  purposes  upon the request of a law      
   enforcement officer unless the act  is  performed  in  a  willful  and      
   wanton  manner,  extends the applicability of those provisions so they      
   include withdrawal of blood or collection of  urine  from  school  bus      
   drivers.
