Short description: 
PUB AID-UNEMP INS-DISCLOSURE                                               

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Illinois Public Aid Code. Provides that  the  contents      
   of case files pertaining to certain recipients shall be made available      
   upon   request  to  a  law  enforcement  agency  for  the  purpose  of      
   determining the current address of a victim of a crime or a witness to      
   a crime. Amends the Unemployment  Insurance  Act.  Provides  that  the      
   Department  of  Employment  Security shall make available to a State's      
   Attorney  or  a  State's  Attorney's   investigator,   upon   request,      
   information  in the possession of the Department that may be necessary      
   or useful in locating a crime victim or a witness.  Effective  January      
   1, 2003.                                                                    
          FISCAL NOTE (Illinois Department of Public Aid)                      
          The amount of increased administrative expenditures would be         
          minimal.                                                             
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Deletes  the  amendatory  language  that  was  in  the  bill   as      
   introduced.  In  the  Illinois  Public  Aid  Code,  provides that "the      
   current address of a recipient who was a  victim  of  a  felony  or  a      
   witness  to a felony shall be made available upon request to a State's      
   Attorney of this State or a State's Attorney's investigator".  In  the      
   Unemployment Insurance Act, provides that the Department of Employment      
   Security  shall  make  available  to  a  State's Attorney or a State's      
   Attorney's investigator, upon request, "the current address or, if the      
   current address  is  unavailable,  current  employer  information,  if      
   available,  of  a  victim  of  a  felony or a witness to a felony or a      
   person against whom an arrest warrant is outstanding".
