House Sponsors: DELGADO-SOTO. Short description: COMMON CARRIERS-WEAPONS Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Boarding Aircraft With Weapon Act. Changes the short title of the Act to the Boarding a Common Carrier with Weapon Act. Provides that the Act applies to boarding or attempting to board any common carrier (rather than limited to aircraft) with a firearm, explosive, or other lethal or dangerous weapon. Changes the penalty for violation of the Act from a Class A misdemeanor to a Class 4 felony. Amends the Unified Code of Corrections to change a cross reference.
