House Sponsors: FORBY-O'CONNOR. Short description: EMERGENCY VEHICLES-PENALTIES Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the Unified Code of Corrections. Provides that the penalties for failing to observe proper procedures when a moving authorized emergency vehicle approaches are the same as for failing to observe proper procedures when approaching a stationary authorized emergency vehicle displaying warning lights. FISCAL NOTE (Department of Transportation) There will be no fiscal impact on the Department. JUDICIAL NOTE (Administrative Office of Illinois Courts) The bill would neither increase nor decrease the number of judges needed in the State. CORRECTIONAL NOTE (Illinois Department of Corrections) No new incarceration sanctions or enhanced incarceration penal- ties are associated with this offense.
