Short description: 
CRIM CD-BUSINESS ADVERTISEMENT                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Criminal Code of 1961.  Provides that it  is  a  petty      
   offense  in  which  the fine imposed is $500 for a person to knowingly      
   publish or cause to be  published  an  advertisement  in  a  telephone      
   directory  without  the  written consent of the owner of the business.      
   Provides that it is a defense to a violation of this Section that  the      
   person  who published the advertisement or caused the advertisement to      
   be published made a reasonable effort to  contact  the  owner  of  the      
   business  and  obtain  the consent of the owner of the business before      
   publication of the advertisement.
