House Sponsors: SOTO-DELGADO. Short description: PENCD-ART 17-TEACH AFTR RETIRE Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the Chicago Teachers Article of the Illinois Pension Code. Repeals the Section providing for the cancellation of the pension of a retired teacher who is re-employed as a teacher for more than 100 days per year. Amends the State Mandates Act to require implementation without reimbursement. Effective immediately. PENSION NOTE (Pension Laws Commission) According to the Fund's actuary, the fiscal impact of HB 1916 is estimated to be minimal, as the number of pensioners who have the annuity suspended by working more than 100 days is small. HB 1916 allows retirees to teach full time without hav- ing the retirement annuity suspended.
