COURT CLERK-FEES-TECH                                                      

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the Clerks of Courts Act. Makes a technical  change  to  a      
   Section concerning fees in counties of 3,000,000 or more.                   
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1. (Tabled November 14, 2001)                     
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          705 ILCS 105/27.2               from Ch. 25, par. 27.2               
          705 ILCS 105/27.5               from Ch. 25, par. 27.5               
          705 ILCS 105/27.6                                                    
        Deletes everything after the enacting clause.  Amends the  Clerks      
   of  Courts Act.  Increases the filing fees of the clerk of the circuit      
   court in counties having a population in excess of 650,000 but less         
   than 3,000,000 and in counties having a population of 3,000,000 or          
   more.  Provides that fees collected for electronic monitoring, drug or      
   alcohol testing and screening, probation, and supervision are exempt        
   from the disbursement provisions relating to other fees, fines, costs,      
   additional penalties, bail balances assessed or forfeited, and any          
   other amounts paid to the circuit clerk. Effective January 1, 2002.         
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 2.                                                
          Adds reference to:                                                   
          705 ILCS 105/27.1a              from Ch. 25, par. 27.1a              
          705 ILCS 105/27.2               from Ch. 25, par. 27.2               
        Deletes everything. Amends the Clerks of the Courts Act.               
   Provides that certain fees apply to counties having a populaiton in         
   excess of 180,000 but not more than 650,000 (instead of counties            
   having a population in excess of 180,000 but not more than 500,000).        
   Provides that certain fees apply to counties having a population in         
   excess of 650,000 but less than 3,000,000 (instead of counties having       
   a population in excess of 500,000 but less than 3,000,000). Provides        
   that, in counties with a population in excess of 500,000 but with less      
   than 3,000,000 and in counties with a population of 3,000,000 or more,      
   the clerk of the circuit court must charge certain minimum fees and         
   may charge, if authorized by resolution of the county board, up to          
   specified maximum fees.
