Senate Sponsors: WOOLARD Short description: SCH CD-GRANTS-LOW INCOME Synopsis of Bill as introduced: Amends the School Code. Limits the application of the provision establishing the amount of the supplemental general State aid grant for a school district with a Low Income Concentration Level of at least 20% and less than 35% to any school year before the 2001-2002 school year. For the 2001-2002 school year, increases the supplemental general State aid grant for such a school district to $1,000 multiplied by the low income eligible pupil count, with the grants for other Low Income Concentration Levels being continued in the 2000-2001 school year amounts. Effective immediately. HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1. Replaces everything after the enacting clause. Amends the State aid formula provisions of the School Code. Provides that the amount of supplemental general State aid a school district receives for the 2001-2002 school year and each school year thereafter is based on a percentage of the foundation level of support. Effective immediately.
