Short description: 
POLICE FIRE-AGE-MILITRY SERVCE                                             

Synopsis of Bill as introduced:
        Amends the  Illinois  Municipal  Code  and  the  Fire  Protection      
   District  Act. Provides that the maximum age for induction into a fire      
   or police department is 45 years for a person who has served full-time      
   in the military for at least 10 years.  Effective immediately.              
        HOUSE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                 
        Further  amends  the  Illinois  Municipal  Code  and   the   Fire      
   Protection  District  Act.   Provides that persons who (i) have served      
   full-time in the military for at least 10 years; (ii) are 45 years  of      
   age or under; and (iii) were not dishonorably discharged from military      
   service  (instead  of,  persons who have served in the military for at      
   least 10 years and are 45 years of age  or  under)  are  eligible  for      
   appointment as a police officer or firefighter.
