   105 ILCS 5/21-28 new                                                        

        Amends  the  School  Code.  Adds   a   Section   concerning   the      
   certification of special education teachers; contains only a caption.       
        SENATE AMENDMENT NO. 1.                                                
        Deletes everything after the enacting clause.  Amends the  School      
   Code.  Requires the State Teacher Certification Board to categorically      
   certify a  special  education  teacher  in  one  or  more  specialized      
   categories  of disability if the special education teacher applies and      
   qualifies for such certification. Effective immediately.
