        Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code.  Changes the name of  driveaway      
   decal  permits  to drive-away permits.  Provides that the Secretary of      
   State shall prescribe how drive-away permits  are  displayed  and  the      
   process for obtaining a drive-away permit.  Changes the length of time      
   that  a  short  term permit or a drive-away permit is valid to 7 days.      
   Amends the Use Tax Act  and  the  Retailers'  Occupation  Tax  Act  to      
   reflect the change in the name of the permit.  Effective immediately.       
          FISCAL NOTE (Secretary of State)                                     
          The license plate type permits will cost approximately $0.28         
          each. It is anticipated approximately 100,000 permits will be        
          issued annually for a total annual cost of $28,000.
