O'BRIEN-HOLBROOK-MCGUIRE. 30 ILCS 105/5.570 new 625 ILCS 5/3-654 new Amends the Illinois Vehicle Code and the State Finance Act. Creates the Illinois Route 66 Heritage Project Fund. Provides for issuance of Illinois Route 66 license plates. Provides for an additional original issuance fee of $40 and an additional renewal fee of $27. Provides that $25 of the original issuance fee and $25 of the renewal fee shall be deposited in the Illinois Route 66 Heritage Project Fund. Provides that $15 of the original issuance fee and $2 of the renewal fee shall be deposited in the Secretary of State Special License Plate Fund. Provides that Illinois Route 66 Heritage Project, Inc. shall use all moneys in the Illinois Route 66 Heritage Project Fund for the development of tourism, through education and interpretation, preservation, and promotion of former U.S. Route 66 in Illinois.
