REITZ-O'BRIEN.

   625 ILCS 5/18c-7401       from Ch. 95 1/2, par. 18c-7401                    

        Amends  the  Illinois  Vehicle  Code.   Provides  that  when  the      
   Illinois Commerce Commission has ordered the installation of  luminous      
   flashing signal or crossing gate devices at a railroad grade crossing,      
   the Commission shall order the installation of temporary stop signs at      
   the  highway  intersection with the grade crossing.  Provides that the      
   stop signs must remain in place until the crossing devices  have  been      
   installed.   Provides  that the Commission has authority to assess the      
   costs of installing temporary stop signs. Effective immediately.            
          FISCAL NOTE (Illinois Commerce Commission)                           
          HB 4265 will have no fiscal impact on the ICC. The costs of          
          obtaining the stop signs would be assessed to the railroad,          
          and the local highway agency would bear the cost of installa-        
          tion and maintenance.
