LYONS,JOSEPH. (RADOGNO) 65 ILCS 5/8-2-9 from Ch. 24, par. 8-2-9 Amends the Illinois Municipal Code. Amends the provision regarding annual appropriation ordinances in municipalities with fewer than 500,000 inhabitants that have not adopted the optional budget-officer provisions of the Code to allow corporate authorities to transfer sums of money appropriated for one purpose or object to another purpose or object, if authorized by a two-thirds vote (transfers now can be made only within the same municipal department or agency). Also makes grammatical changes and provides that the appropriation ordinance may be passed (now adopted) at or after the public meeting at which the ordinance is discussed.
