 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Senate  of  the  State  of
 3    Illinois  were saddened to learn of the death of Thomas Keith
 4    Haverstock, D.D.S., of Geneva on Saturday, August  10,  2002;
 5    and

 6        WHEREAS, Dr. Haverstock was born on December 6, 1942, the
 7    son  of  Gordon  and  Geraldine  Haverstock; he was raised in
 8    Chicago; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Haverstock  graduated  from   the   Loyola
10    University  School  of  Dentistry in 1968; he was awarded the
11    Bronze Star for his tour  of  duty  with  the  U.S.  Army  in
12    Vietnam;  in 1971, he relocated to Geneva, where he began his
13    family dental practice and became an  enthusiastic  supporter
14    of the community; and

15        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Haverstock  was  a  founding member of the
16    dental staff of Delnor-Community Hospital in Geneva, a member
17    of the Fox River Valley Dental Society,  the  Illinois  State
18    Dental Society and the American Dental Association; and

19        WHEREAS,  Dr.  Haverstock was a communicant of St. Mark's
20    Episcopal Church, where he served on the  vestry  and  was  a
21    member  of the church choir; his love of music led him to the
22    Elgin Choral Union where he sang in concerts with  the  Elgin
23    Symphony  Orchestra; he was a well-known fan and supporter of
24    Geneva High School sports teams; he was a familiar figure  on
25    the  Tri-City  soccer  fields, where he served as support and
26    referee for the team; and

27        WHEREAS, An avid photographer, Dr. Haverstock traveled to
28    many of the national parks of the West and in Maine, where he
29    admired the spirit of landscape in the style of Ansel  Adams;
30    during retirement, he developed an interest in fly-fishing, a
31    sport  he  pursued in trout streams in Wisconsin and Montana;

 2        WHEREAS, His passing will be deeply felt  by  his  family
 3    and   friends,   especially,   his  wife  of  34  years,  Ann
 4    (Beltemacchi); his two sons, Andrew (Elizabeth) and Adam; his
 5    grandson, Thomas Sidney; his  brother,  Richard  (Mary);  his
 6    nephews,  Todd  (Linda)  and Matthew; and many great friends;
 7    therefore, be it

 8        RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
 9    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn the death of
10    Dr.   Thomas   Keith   Haverstock,  and  extend  our  sincere
11    condolences to his family and friends; and be it further

12        RESOLVED, That a suitable  copy  of  this  resolution  be
13    presented to the family of Dr. Thomas Keith Haverstock.
