1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate are saddened
3 to learn of the death of Arkola "Kay" Jones of Cahokia, who
4 passed away June 16, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Arkola Jones was the daughter of Indiana Stennis
6 Clayborne and Reverend Jesse Clayborne; and
7 WHEREAS, Arkola Jones was sweet and industrious; she was
8 a beautician by trade and a graduate of the Cora Lena Beauty
9 School; and
10 WHEREAS, Arkola Jones will be deeply missed by all those
11 who knew her and loved her, especially her two sisters, Mary
12 Spires and Mamie Bolden; her aunt, Ruth Naomi Stennis-Ulmer;
13 her two granddaughters, Lue Ellen Coleman and Patrice Renae
14 Williams; her six great-grandchildren, Robert Jr.,
15 Dementrias, Tiesha, Charlene, Ashely, and Jessica; her
16 great-great-grandchild, Kaprece; her two sisters-in-law, Edna
17 Clayborne, and Ophelia Clayborne; and a host of other
18 relatives and friends; she was preceded in death by her son
19 Mack Anderson; her parents, Indiana Stennis Clayborne and
20 Rev. Jesse Clayborne; her sister-in-law, Frances Clayborne;
21 and 10 siblings; therefore, be it
22 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
23 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
24 her family and friends, the death of Arkola "Kay" Jones; and
25 be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the family of Arkola Jones with our sincere
28 condolences.
