1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Georgene Karis, who passed away on May 25, 2002; and
5 WHEREAS, Georgene Prevolos Karis was the daughter of the
6 late Dan and Christine Prevolos; she was the beloved wife of
7 the late Alexander Karis; and
8 WHEREAS, Georgene Karis was a tireless worker who loved
9 her family, her church, S.S. Peter and Paul Greek Orthodox
10 Church in Glenview, and her community; she was a very bright
11 and talented businesswoman who, with her late husband,
12 Alexander, and daughter, Christine, succeeded in the
13 operation of a great number of McDonald's restaurants; and
14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Karis was well respected and well liked by
15 all who knew her, and left a record of excellence and
16 accomplishment to her family; and
17 WHEREAS, The passing of Georgene Karis will be deeply
18 felt by all who knew and loved her, especially her daughter,
19 Christine (husband, Ernie) Cochanis; her grandchildren, Kathy
20 (husband, Dean) Lanphere, Jayme Schenk, and Michael (fiancee,
21 Vanessa Pappas) Schenk; her sister-in-law, State Senator
22 Adeline J. Geo-Karis; and her many nieces and nephews;
23 therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
25 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
26 all who knew her, the death of Georgene Karis; and be it
27 further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the family of Georgene Karis with our sincere
30 condolences.
