 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of Frank C. Passarelli, who passed away on December 3,  2001;
 5    and

 6        WHEREAS, Frank Passarelli grew up in Chicago's Bridgeport
 7    neighborhood  as  the  oldest  of  eight children of the late
 8    Rosario and Angelina Passarelli; and

 9        WHEREAS,  Alderman  Passarelli  served  in  the   Pacific
10    Theater during World War II as a corporal in the Army; he was
11    decorated with a Silver Star and a Purple Heart; and

12        WHEREAS, After the war, Alderman Passarelli moved back to
13    Bridgeport,  where  he  met and married Josephine Bilotta; he
14    took a job as a  bottle  washer  for  the  Royal  Crown  Cola
15    Company,  where after a long string of promotions, he retired
16    as a vice president and the company's general manager; and

17        WHEREAS, Alderman Passarelli moved to  Palos  Heights  in
18    1969 with his wife and two daughters; his political career in
19    the  city  began almost immediately; a year after the move he
20    began a 23-year tenure on the Palos Heights  School  District
21    128 Board of Education, stepping down in 1993; he also served
22    for  11  years  on  the  city's  police  commission;  he  was
23    currently  serving  his  third term on the Palos Heights City
24    Council; and

25        WHEREAS, Alderman  Passarelli  was  well  known  for  his
26    devotion to the City of Palos Heights and to the residents of
27    the  2nd Ward; he was devoted to the issues and challenges of
28    the city's senior citizen population and contributed his time
29    and efforts into the beautification  of  the  Lake  Katherine
30    Nature Preserve; and

31        WHEREAS,  Frank  Passarelli  was  the  beloved husband of

 1    Josephine "Dodo" Passarelli; loving father of Carol Ann (Sam)
 2    Bills and Jo Ann (the late Patrick) Weber; beloved son of the
 3    late Rosario and Angelina  Passarelli;  dear  grandfather  of
 4    Michael  and  Michelle  Gilhooly  and  Christi-Lyn  (Raymond)
 5    Hernandez;   great-grandfather   of   Frankie   and   Theresa
 6    Hernandez;  dear brother of Carmella (the late Curt) Beckett,
 7    Edward  (the  late  Vicky),  Rosario  Jr.  (the  late  Gerri)
 8    Passarelli, Joseph (Bernie)  Passarelli,  James  (Antionette)
 9    Passarelli,  and Michael (Joann) Passarelli, and the late Sam
10    Passarelli; brother-in-law to  Sonny  Bilotta  and  the  late
11    Vicky,  Violet  and  Annie; and fond uncle to many nieces and
12    nephews; therefore, be it

13        RESOLVED, BY THE  SENATE  OF  THE  NINETY-SECOND  GENERAL
14    ASSEMBLY  OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
15    all who knew him, the death  of  Frank  Passarelli  of  Palos
16    Heights, Illinois; and be it further

17        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
18    presented to the family of Frank Passarelli with our  sincere
19    condolences.
