 1                          SENATE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS, The members  of  the  Illinois  Senate  wish  to
 3    express  their  sincere condolences to the family and friends
 4    of Nicola L. "Nick" Teramani, who passed away on November 19,
 5    2001; and

 6        WHEREAS, Nicola L. Teramani was born on December 11, 1940
 7    in Chicago, Illinois; and

 8        WHEREAS, Mr. Teramani owned Royal Custom Rug  Service  in
 9    Prospect  Heights  for  eight  years  and  Custom  Binding in
10    Chicago for 15 years; and

11        WHEREAS, Mr. Teramani served as alderman for the City  of
12    Prospect  Heights Ward 1 for the past six years; in addition,
13    he served on the City Finance Committee and was in charge  of
14    the Human Relations Committee for Prospect Heights; and

15        WHEREAS,  During  his  years on the council, Mr. Teramani
16    developed a reputation  as  an  outspoken  leader  who  never
17    minced  words, whether discussing flood control issues or the
18    need  for  continued  economic  development  along  the  Rand
19    Road/Thomas Avenue Corridor; he was instrumental in getting a
20    special taxing area established in the first ward to help pay
21    for stormwater drainage improvements in the area; and

22        WHEREAS, Mr. Teramani served as a board member  and  past
23    president  of  the  Willow Wood Condo Association in Prospect
24    Heights and on the board of directors  for  Prospect  Heights
25    Dollars for Scholars; and

26        WHEREAS, The passing of Nicola L. "Nick" Teramani will be
27    deeply  felt  by  all  who knew and loved him, especially his
28    wife of 39 years, Marlene D. Teramani; his  daughters,  Donna
29    M.  (Marty)  McDonagh, Vicki M. (Jim) Jagielski, and Robin J.
30    Teramani  (Darrell  Humphries);  his  grandchildren,  Nicole,
31    Meaghan,  Nicholas,  Michelle,  and  Brandon;   his   mother,

 1    Virginia Smith; and his brothers, Leonard Teramani and Ronald
 2    (Laura) Teramani; therefore, be it

 3        RESOLVED,  BY  THE  SENATE  OF  THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL
 4    ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along  with
 5    all who knew him, the death of Nicola L. Teramani of Prospect
 6    Heights, Illinois; and be it further

 7        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 8    presented to the  family  of  Nicola  L.  Teramani  with  our
 9    sincere condolences.
