1 SENATE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois Senate wish to
3 express their sincere condolences to the family and friends
4 of Donan "Jim" Faulkner, Jr. who was killed in the line of
5 duty on September 20, 2001; and
6 WHEREAS, Donan Faulkner, Jr. was born on March 5, 1964 in
7 Peoria, Illinois to Donan J. Sr. and Carol J. Rotholtz
8 Faulkner; he married Christine A. Brown in Peoria, Illinois;
9 and
10 WHEREAS, Donan Faulkner, Jr. served on the Peoria Police
11 Department for seven years and was one of the special
12 response team members; he was a field training officer
13 assigned to the third-shift uniform division, working in
14 District 2; he previously served with the Peoria Heights
15 Police Department and was a former member of the Peoria
16 Heights Fire Department; and
17 WHEREAS, Donan Faulkner, Jr. received the Distinguished
18 Service Award in 1998 and 2000 and had received many
19 commendations for his police service; and
20 WHEREAS, Donan Faulkner, Jr. was a member of the Peoria
21 Police Benevolent Association and was a member of St. Thomas
22 Catholic Church in Peoria Heights; and
23 WHEREAS, The passing of Donan Faulkner, Jr. will be
24 deeply felt by all those who knew and loved him, especially
25 his wife, Christine; his children, Christopher, Alexander,
26 Nickolas, Jackson, and Adrienne; his parents, Donan J. Sr.
27 and Carol Faulkner; his brother, Timothy (wife, Julie)
28 Faulkner; his sister, Debra (husband, Norman) Reichert; his
29 several nieces and nephews; and his colleagues and friends at
30 the Peoria Police Department; therefore, be it
31 RESOLVED, BY THE SENATE OF THE NINETY-SECOND GENERAL

1 ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that we mourn, along with
2 all who knew him, the death of Donan Faulkner, Jr. of Peoria,
3 Illinois; and be it further
4 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
5 presented to the family of Donan Faulkner, Jr. with our
6 sincere condolences.
