1 AN ACT in relation to elections.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Election Code is amended by adding
5 Section 9-8.20 as follows:
6 (10 ILCS 5/9-8.20 new)
7 Sec. 9-8.20. Contributions to members of certain Boards
8 of Review. A member of, or candidate for, a Board of Review
9 created under Section 5-5 of the Property Tax Code, or the
10 member's or candidate's political committee, may not solicit
11 or accept contributions from an entity, including attorneys
12 and tax consultants, who has represented a taxpayer before
13 the Board in the preceding 5 years or who is currently
14 representing a taxpayer before the Board.
