 1                    AMENDMENT TO SENATE BILL 629

 2        AMENDMENT NO.     .  Amend Senate Bill  629  on  page  3,
 3    below line 25, by inserting the following:

 4        "Section  10.   The Juvenile Court Act of 1987 is amended
 5    by changing Section 5-125 as follows:

 6        (705 ILCS 405/5-125)
 7        Sec.  5-125.  Concurrent jurisdiction. Any minor  alleged
 8    to  have  violated  a traffic, boating, or fish and game law,
 9    the Humane Care for Animals Act, or  a  municipal  or  county
10    ordinance,  may  be prosecuted for the violation and if found
11    guilty punished under any statute or  ordinance  relating  to
12    the violation, without reference to the procedures set out in
13    this   Article,   except  that  any  detention,  must  be  in
14    compliance with this Article.
15        For the purpose  of  this  Section,  "traffic  violation"
16    shall  include  a  violation  of  Section 9-3 of the Criminal
17    Code of 1961 relating to the offense  of  reckless  homicide,
18    Section  11-501  of the Illinois Vehicle Code, or any similar
19    county or municipal ordinance.
