1 AN ACT in relation to public aid.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Illinois Public Aid Code is amended by
5 adding Section 4-23 as follows:
6 (305 ILCS 5/4-23 new)
7 Sec. 4-23. Transitional transportation assistance.
8 Subject to appropriations, the Department shall provide up to
9 12 months of transitional transportation assistance to former
10 recipients of Temporary Assistance for Needy Families if the
11 former recipients are no longer eligible for assistance due
12 to an increase in earned income in the household. This
13 Section shall not be construed to create an entitlement to
14 transitional transportation assistance.
15 Section 99. Effective date. This Act takes effect
16 January 1, 2002.
