1 AN ACT in relation to surface coal mining.
2 Be it enacted by the People of the State of Illinois,
3 represented in the General Assembly:
4 Section 5. The Surface Coal Mining Land Conservation and
5 Reclamation Act is amended by changing Section 2.01 as
6 follows:
7 (225 ILCS 720/2.01) (from Ch. 96 1/2, par. 7902.01)
8 Sec. 2.01. Necessity of a Permit. It shall be unlawful
9 for any person to engage in mining operations subject to the
10 provisions of this Act without first obtaining from the
11 Department a permit to do so from the Department.
