1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, Mt. Carmel High School is located at 6410 S.
3 Dante in Chicago and is renowned for its athletic
4 achievements throughout Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, On Saturday, November 30, 2002, the Mt. Carmel
6 High School Football Team won the 2002 Illinois High School
7 Association Class 6A State Championship at the University of
8 Illinois' Memorial Stadium in Champaign by a score of 31 to 0
9 against Bloomington High School; and
10 WHEREAS, This is the tenth football championship for Mt.
11 Carmel High School, which ties the Caravan for the most
12 football titles in IHSA history; and
13 WHEREAS, The Mt. Carmel High School Football Team is led
14 by Head Football Coach and Athletic Director Frank Lenti; by
15 Assistant Coaches David Lenti, Pete Kammholz, Tom Sulow, Bill
16 Nolan, Mark Antonietti, Mike Minogue, and Jasper Strong; and
17 by Team Captains Dan O'Brien, Frank Lenti, P.J. Blough, and
18 Brett Kellam; and
19 WHEREAS, Underlying all of Mt. Carmel's achievements has
20 been a constant and serious effort to develop solid Christian
21 spirituality; the Mt. Carmel High School Football Team
22 reflects a commitment to excellence that is passed from one
23 generation to the next; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate the Mt. Carmel High School Football Team on
27 winning the Class 6A State Championship; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to Head Coach and Athletic Director Frank Lenti
30 with our best wishes for the team's continued success.
