1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to congratulate the parish community of
4 St. Eulalia on the occasion of its 75th anniversary of
5 service and witness to the Maywood-Broadview community on
6 November 23, 2002; and
7 WHEREAS, In addition to serving its own congregation, St.
8 Eulalia Parish has continually reached out to the
9 marginalized and disenfranchised; the commitment that "the
10 church on the Eisenhower" has made to the village and its
11 inhabitants has not gone unnoticed; for over 25 years its
12 ECHO food pantry has been a beacon to residents who have
13 fallen behind during hard times; its adjoining resale shop is
14 always willing to provide clothing and household items to
15 fire victims and the less fortunate; and
16 WHEREAS, St. Eulalia Church is a proponent of good
17 government and has always opened its doors for meetings,
18 debates and fellowship with the betterment of Maywood always
19 at the forefront; therefore be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we extend our best wishes to St. Eulalia Parish as it
23 celebrates its 75th anniversary; and we wish the parish
24 community all the best in the future as it continues to work
25 in the Lord's name; and be it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to St. Eulalia Parish.
