1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize Robert S. Baile as
4 the first recipient of the Remarkable Influence Award, which
5 is given by the Illinois Alliance for Arts Education to honor
6 an Illinois arts educator who has had a significant impact on
7 Illinois residents; and
8 WHEREAS, The arts are one of the six fundamental learning
9 areas in the Illinois Learning Standards, and a core academic
10 subject in the No Child Left Behind Act; and
11 WHEREAS, There is a corps of highly qualified arts
12 educators that provide instruction to Illinois students; and
13 WHEREAS, Learning in the arts contributes significantly
14 to a student's academic and social development; and
15 WHEREAS, The Illinois Alliance for Arts Education is the
16 only statewide organization whose mission is to safeguard and
17 expand arts education for all Illinois students; therefore,
18 be it
19 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
20 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
21 we recognize Robert S. Baile, former Mendota High School Band
22 Director from 1956 to 1984, as the first recipient of the
23 Remarkable Influence Award given by the Illinois Alliance for
24 Arts Education; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Robert S. Baile with our respect.
