1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Shirley Ann
6 Cozzo is retiring from her position as Executive Director of
7 the Oak Forest Chamber of Commerce after 19 years of service;
8 and
9 WHEREAS, The daughter of Paul and Emily Kinder, Mrs.
10 Cozzo is a graduate of Fenger High School; she attended the
11 University of Illinois at Navy Pier, earned her bachelor's
12 degree at Northern Illinois University, and attended Notre
13 Dame University's Institute for Chamber of Commerce
14 Management; and
15 WHEREAS, Mrs. Cozzo has served as the Executive Director
16 of the Oak Forest Chamber of Commerce for the past 19 years;
17 was previously employed with the Illinois Institute of
18 Technology and served as a substitute teacher at St. Damian
19 School in Oak Forest; and
20 WHEREAS, Mrs. Cozzo has been a member of several civic
21 organizations, including the Arbor Park School PTA, St.
22 Damian Cabaret Committee, St. Damian Church Council, the
23 Illinois Crime Prevention Association, the City of Oak Forest
24 Economic Development Committee, the American Business Womens
25 Association, the Rotary of Oak Forest, and the Oak Forest
26 Community Awareness Fair; she also was an Oak Forest Flag
27 Football Cheerleading Coach, a Coordinator of St. Damian
28 Pre-school and Sunday School, and served with many other
29 committee and volunteer organizations; and
30 WHEREAS, Shirley Ann Cozzo married Michael Cozzo on
31 August 27, 1966 and has resided in Oak Forest since 1967; the

1 Cozzos are the parents of Paula (husband, Ron) Paymaster,
2 Maria (husband, Brian) Hovanes, and Daniel (fiance, Debbie
3 Mulvey) Cozzo and the grandparents of Zachary and Jacob
4 Paymaster; therefore, be it
5 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
6 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
7 we congratulate Shirley Ann Cozzo on her retirement after 19
8 years of service as Executive Director of the Oak Forest
9 Chamber of Commerce; and we wish her well in all of her
10 future endeavors; and be it further
11 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
12 presented to Shirley Ann Cozzo as an expression of our
13 esteem.
