1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to recognize outstanding
4 achievements in high school athletics in this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the
6 Lincoln-Way East High School Griffins softball team recently
7 won the 2002 IHSA State Softball Championship; and
8 WHEREAS, With a phenomenal performance, the Lincoln-Way
9 East Griffins softball team won the championship during their
10 first year of existence, without the benefit of a senior
11 class; and
12 WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way East Griffins softball team was
13 helped by the support of the local community; and
14 WHEREAS, The excitement that the Griffins generated
15 helped to provide a wonderful start to a new high school
16 history; and
17 WHEREAS, The Lincoln-Way East Griffins softball team
18 continuously exhibited, at the highest level, the qualities
19 of Effort, Attitude, Spirit, and Teamwork; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we congratulate the Lincoln-Way East High School Griffins
23 softball team for winning the 2002 IHSA State Softball
24 Championship; and be it further
25 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
26 presented to Dr. Michael Gardner, Principal of Lincoln-Way
27 East High School.
