1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Joseph B.
6 Topinka was promoted to the rank of Major in the U.S. Army on
7 June 14, 2002, at Fort Lewis, Washington; and
8 WHEREAS, Major Topinka has made the Army his career since
9 receiving his law degree from Northern Illinois University;
10 while in college, he served in the Illinois National Guard
11 and has continued his service in the Army; Major Topinka has
12 been stationed in Fairbanks, Alaska, Fort Knox, Kentucky, and
13 now Fort Lewis, Washington; and
14 WHEREAS, Major Topinka's most recent assignment has been
15 with the 6th Military Police, Group Judge Advocate;
16 therefore, be it
17 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
18 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
19 we congratulate Joseph B. Topinka on his promotion to the
20 rank of Major in the U.S. Army and wish him all the best in
21 the future; and be it further
22 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
23 presented to Major Joseph Topinka as an expression of our
24 esteem.
