1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are proud to congratulate Clarisol Avila and
4 Omar Duque, who will be united in marriage on June 22, 2002,
5 in Chicago; and
6 WHEREAS, Clarisol Avila was born October 10, 1976, and
7 Omar Duque was born March 12, 1976; they met 10 years ago at
8 a NALEO Leadership Program and have continued to be the best
9 of friends; and
10 WHEREAS, Clarisol and Omar began dating 3 1/2 years ago
11 and were engaged in February 2001; Clarisol surprised Omar
12 with a birthday trip to London in February 2001; on that same
13 trip, Omar surprised Clarisol with a marriage proposal on the
14 banks of the Seine River across from the Notre Dame Cathedral
15 in Paris; and
16 WHEREAS, Clarisol and Omar enjoy jogging, dancing,
17 volunteering their efforts towards public service, and eating
18 at one of their favorite restaurants, A Little Bit of
19 Everything; they also enjoy spending time with their friends;
20 and
21 WHEREAS, Clarisol and Omar shared a trip to Great America
22 where Clarisol "faced her fears" and Omar "faced the camera";
23 and
24 WHEREAS, Clarisol works for U.S. Senator Richard Durbin
25 and Omar works for the Mexican-American Chamber of Commerce
26 (MACC), both working on behalf of the residents of the State
27 of Illinois; and
28 WHEREAS, Clarisol and Omar, accompanied by their parents,
29 Roman and Teresa Avila and Elizabeth Duque, will be joined in
30 holy matrimony by Father Ezequiel Sanchez at Holy Trinity
31 Croatian Roman Catholic Church in Chicago; therefore, be it

1 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
2 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
3 we congratulate Clarisol Avila and Omar Duque on their union
4 and wish them all the best in the years to come; may the best
5 of their past be the worst of their future life together; and
6 be it further
7 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
8 presented to the new Mr. and Mrs. Duque as an expression of
9 our esteem.
