 1                          HOUSE RESOLUTION

 2        WHEREAS,  The  members   of   the   Illinois   House   of
 3    Representatives  wish  to  recognize  milestone events in the
 4    lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and

 5        WHEREAS, It has come to our  attention  that  Fire  Chief
 6    Thomas  C.  Allenspach  of  the Buffalo Grove Fire Department
 7    will be retiring on May 19, 2002 after 32 years  of  service;
 8    and

 9        WHEREAS,  Chief  Allenspach  was  hired  as  a  full time
10    firefighter for the Skokie Fire Department in April 1969;  he
11    left  in  June 1969 to serve in the United States Army during
12    the Viet Nam Conflict and later returned to the  Skokie  Fire
13    Department in April 1971; and

14        WHEREAS,  Chief Allenspach served as an on-call member of
15    the Buffalo Grove Fire  Department  from  June  1971  through
16    October  1972;  in  August  1989  he retired as a Deputy Fire
17    Chief for the Skokie Fire Department and took over the duties
18    as Fire Chief for the Buffalo Grove Fire Department, where he
19    has served for the past 13 years; and

20        WHEREAS, Chief Allenspach has served the citizens of  the
21    State  of  Illinois  in  a  variety  of  roles,  including as
22    President of the Illinois  Fire  Chiefs  Association  and  as
23    Director of the Illinois Fire Safety Alliance; and

24        WHEREAS, Family, friends, and the many colleagues of Fire
25    Chief Thomas C. Allenspach will come together on May 16, 2002
26    to  celebrate  his  dedicated  32-year  career  and  upcoming
27    retirement; therefore, be it

28        RESOLVED,   BY   THE  HOUSE  OF  REPRESENTATIVES  OF  THE
29    NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30    we congratulate  Fire  Chief  Thomas  C.  Allenspach  on  his
31    retirement from the Buffalo Grove Fire Department and we wish

 1    him well in all of his future endeavors; and be it further

 2        RESOLVED,  That  a  suitable  copy  of this resolution be
 3    presented to Fire Chief Thomas C. Allenspach as an expression
 4    of our esteem.
