1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone dates in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that the Reverend
6 Lawrence Hanley is celebrating 50 years in the priesthood on
7 May 1, 2002; and
8 WHEREAS, Father Hanley was ordained on May 1, 1952 by
9 Cardinal Stritch at St. Mary of the Lake; from 1952 to 1960
10 he served as Assistant Pastor at St. Joachim's Parish in
11 Chicago; from 1960 to 1966 he served as Assistant Pastor at
12 St. Peter's Parish in Antioch; and from 1966 to 1973 he
13 served as Assistant Pastor as Holy Trinity in the Medical
14 Center in Chicago; and
15 WHEREAS, From 1973 to 1981, Father Hanley served as
16 Pastor of Holy Rosary Parish in Chicago and from 1981 to 1996
17 as Pastor of St. Peter's Parish in Antioch; and
18 WHEREAS, From 1997 to the present day, Father Hanley has
19 served as Pastor Emeritus of St. Peter's Parish; and
20 WHEREAS, Prior to his ordination, Father Hanley attended
21 Quigley Preparatory Seminary in Chicago; and
22 WHEREAS, On April 14, 2002, the members of St. Peter's
23 Parish in Antioch will honor Father Hanley with a Golden
24 Jubilee "50 years in the Priesthood" Celebration; therefore,
25 be it
26 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
27 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
28 we congratulate the Reverend Lawrence Hanley on the
29 celebration of 50 years in the priesthood and we wish him
30 continued success in the future; and be it further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to the Reverend Lawrence Hanley as an expression of
3 our esteem.
