1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Donald
6 Svachula has retired from the Chicago Fire Department after
7 34 years of service; and
8 WHEREAS, Mr. Svachula began his career with the Chicago
9 Fire Department on August 16, 1967, and at the time of his
10 retirement in December, 2001, he served as Battalion Chief of
11 Battalion 11; and
12 WHEREAS, Mr. Svachula throughout his career has had the
13 love and support of his wife, Barbara, and his children,
14 Joseph, Peter, Christopher, Annemarie, and Daniel; and
15 WHEREAS, Members of the Chicago Fire Department will
16 celebrate the service of Donald Svachula at a retirement
17 party on February 20, 2002; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we congratulate Donald Svachula on his retirement after 34
21 years of dedication and service to the Chicago Fire
22 Department; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Donald Svachula as an expression of our esteem.
