1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize milestone
4 accomplishments in the lives of the citizens of the State of
5 Illinois; and
6 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Dr. Dulce
7 Milanes of Lake Forest, Illinois recently achieved a new U.S.
8 record for bringing life into the world; and
9 WHEREAS, According to the American College of Obstetrics
10 and Gynecology, Dr. Milanes hold the U.S. record for
11 delivering babies; the Lake Forest resident has delivered
12 over 15,000 baby boys and girls, many of them at Condell
13 Medical Center in Libertyville, and Provena-St. Therese
14 Medical Center and Victory Memorial Hospital in Waukegan; and
15 WHEREAS, Dr. Milanes delivered her first baby after
16 reading a "how to" book at the age of 15; she began her
17 internship and residency in Grayslake in 1954 after
18 completing medical school in Havana, Cuba; she has offices in
19 Grayslake and Waukegan; and
20 WHEREAS, Dr. Milanes has loved every minute of her work
21 and is proud of her 47-year old practice; in addition to
22 delivering the rough equivalent of half the population of
23 Mundelein, Illinois, Dr. Milanes has witnessed her share of
24 unusual births throughout the years; and
25 WHEREAS, Today Dr. Milanes is still missing her meals and
26 leaving movie theaters when her patients are ready to
27 deliver; her office is still packed daily; therefore, be it
28 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
29 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
30 we congratulate Dr. Dulce Milanes on setting a new U.S.
31 record for delivering babies, and we wish her continued

1 success in the future; and be it further
2 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
3 presented to Dr. Dulce Milanes as an expression of our
4 esteem.
