1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives wish to offer our sincere congratulations to
4 Driscoll Catholic High School on the occasion of the school's
5 35th anniversary; and
6 WHEREAS, Driscoll Catholic High School, located in
7 Addison, Illinois, first opened its doors to students in
8 1966; and
9 WHEREAS, Under the direction of the Dioceses of Joliet,
10 Driscoll was founded by the School Sisters of St. Francis and
11 the Brothers of the Christian Schools; and
12 WHEREAS, Driscoll has worked to fulfill its mission to
13 provide quality college preparatory education, and to help
14 students develop the skills necessary to lead happy
15 productive lives; and
16 WHEREAS, Driscoll currently serves 9 communities in
17 western and northwestern Cook County and 20 communities in
18 northern DuPage County; and
19 WHEREAS, Since opening in 1966, over 5,000 students have
20 been served by Driscoll; and
21 WHEREAS, Driscoll's tradition of excellence is
22 attributable to the dedication of the community, church,
23 administration, faculty, and families; and
24 WHEREAS, The exceptional staff at Driscoll helps produce
25 students who excel beyond the classroom in extracurricular
26 activities and in college; and
27 WHEREAS, Excelling not only in academics, Driscoll has
28 won 19 conference championships, 12 regional or sectional
29 championships, and 6 state titles since 1990; and

1 WHEREAS, We recognize the efforts of the Driscoll
2 Catholic High School faculty and administration, whose
3 leadership and dedication has touched thousands of students;
4 and
5 WHEREAS, This achievement is a source of inspiration to
6 the entire community and State, building upon 35 years of
7 successful educational programming; therefore, be it
8 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
9 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
10 we do hereby offer our congratulations to Driscoll Catholic
11 High School for 35 years of excellence and dedication; and be
12 it further
13 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
14 presented to Driscoll Catholic High School Principal, Stephen
15 Marth.
