1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of this Body are honored to
3 recognize significant milestones in the lives of the people
4 of this State; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Victoria
6 Earlene Burten Jefferson, the mother of State Representative
7 Charles E. Jefferson, is celebrating the 80th anniversary of
8 her birth; and
9 WHEREAS, Victoria Earlene Burten was born on November 24,
10 1921, in Waco, Texas, to Alex Joshua Burten and Zollie Mae
11 Burten; and
12 WHEREAS, Victoria Burten married Lee Andrew Jefferson on
13 January 15, 1938; and
14 WHEREAS, Mrs. Jefferson is the proud mother of eleven
15 children, Lee A. Jr., Joyce A., Robert E., Charles E.,
16 Kenneth J., Linda L., Frank J., Dorthy S., Patsy J., Amie S.,
17 and Karen R.; therefore, be it
18 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
19 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
20 we congratulate Victoria Earlene Burten Jefferson on the
21 occasion of her 80th birthday and extend to her our sincere
22 best wishes for the future; and be it further
23 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
24 presented to Victoria Earlene Burten Jefferson as an
25 expression of our respect and esteem.
