1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives offer our sincere congratulations to the 2001
4 Timothy Christian High School Girls Cross Country Team and
5 Coach Dick Zylstra on their first State Championship Title;
6 and
7 WHEREAS, The Lady Trojans won the Class A Team
8 Championship with 115 points, with the aid of all-state
9 runners Rachel Reed and Jenny Zylstra, placing four runners
10 in the top 35; and
11 WHEREAS, Team members Rachel Reed, Jenny Zylstra, Jenny
12 Loerop, Ashley Afman, Jessica Verlare, Jodi Verlare, Michelle
13 Pruim, Stefanie LeRoy, Tami Wieringa, Christine Snoeyink,
14 Danielle Riley, Emily Carwell, Alexandra Hegel, Kristin
15 Raley, Hannah Wagle, and Amy Dirkse have demonstrated
16 extraordinary determination and commitment in their quest to
17 be the best runners in the State; and
18 WHEREAS, We recognize the hard work and dedication of
19 Coach Dick Zylstra, whose leadership has inspired these young
20 athletes to excel to record levels; and
21 WHEREAS, These outstanding young women have served as
22 role models to their fellow students and have worked together
23 as a "team" all season, encouraging and helping one another
24 to reach their final goal; and
25 WHEREAS, We recognize this victory is a source of great
26 pride to the school and the entire community, and is shared
27 by the families and friends and the student body of Timothy
28 Christian, who have supported the team all season; therefore,
29 be it
30 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
31 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that

1 we do hereby offer our congratulations to Coach Dick Zylstra
2 and the Lady Trojans for making school history by winning
3 their first Cross Country State Class A Championship Title in
4 Peoria on November 3, 2001; and be it further
5 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
6 presented to Coach Dick Zylstra and to the Team Members.
