1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are honored to recognize heroic acts by a
4 citizen of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, 12-year old Corbin Hackley was on vacation in
6 North Topsail Beach, North Carolina on August 1, 2001 when he
7 saw a potential tragedy happen right before his eyes; and
8 WHEREAS, Corbin, accompanied by his mother, Carolyn, his
9 father, Jeff, his brother, Josh, and a friend, noticed a
10 two-year old boy lose his balance and fall into a swimming
11 pool; and
12 WHEREAS, Corbin reacted instinctively and jumped into the
13 pool and pulled the child up to safety; and
14 WHEREAS, Corbin Hackley's quick instincts and bravery
15 saved the life of a small child; he is a hero not only to
16 this little boy, but also to the boy's parents who were
17 spared from what would have been a painful tragedy; in
18 addition, he is a hero in the eyes of his extremely proud
19 family; therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we honor the heroic and quick thinking acts of Corbin
23 Hackley; and be it further
24 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
25 presented to Corbin Hackley as an expression of our esteem.
