1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives join with the Village of LaGrange Park to
4 honor the memory of Fire Chief Arthur A. "Bucky" Tullis, who
5 died in the line of duty on May 4, 1999, by dedicating a fire
6 station in his name; and
7 WHEREAS, Chief Tullis worked for the LaGrange Park Fire
8 Department for 35 years, having started his probationary
9 service in 1964; he was promoted to Lieutenant in 1978, to
10 Captain in 1983, to Deputy Chief in 1986, and to Chief in
11 1987; and
12 WHEREAS, Chief Tullis was very well known and active in
13 the LaGrange Park community; and
14 WHEREAS, LaGrange Park Fire Department Fire Station No. 2
15 is being dedicated to the memory of Fire Chief Arthur "Bucky"
16 Tullis in November, 2001; Chief Tullis took a special
17 interest in the care and upkeep of the "unstaffed" station
18 during his years with the LaGrange Park Fire Department;
19 therefore, be it
20 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
21 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
22 we honor the memory and outstanding service of Fire Chief
23 Arthur A. "Bucky" Tullis of the LaGrange Park Fire Department
24 in the dedication of LaGrange Park Fire Station No. 2; and be
25 it further
26 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
27 presented to the family of Fire Chief Arthur "Bucky" Tullis.
