1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the history of organizations in the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Des Plaines
6 Lodge No. 1526 is celebrating its 75th anniversary this year;
7 and
8 WHEREAS, The Des Plaines Elks Lodge has been an ever
9 present organization not only in the Des Plaines community,
10 but throughout its surrounding communities; and
11 WHEREAS, The Des Plaines Lodge is a Benevolent
12 Organization who serve and assist the youth of the area,
13 veterans, Veteran's Hospitals, and disabled children; and
14 WHEREAS, Other activities that the Des Plaines Lodge No.
15 1526 are involved with include organizing and running food
16 drives, mentoring school children in math and reading,
17 sponsoring Scout troops and Youth Baseball Teams in the area,
18 and participating in many other needy causes; and
19 WHEREAS, In addition, the Des Plaines Lodge No. 1526
20 participate in the July 4th Des Plaines Parade, and honor two
21 high school students per month for their scholastic
22 achievement and community involvement; therefore, be it
23 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
24 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
25 we congratulate Des Plaines Lodge No. 1526 on the celebration
26 of seventy-five years of humanitarian service to Des Plaines,
27 Illinois and its surrounding communities; and be it further
28 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
29 presented to the members of Des Plaines Lodge No. 1526 as an
30 expression of our esteem.
