1 HOUSE RESOLUTION
2 WHEREAS, The members of the Illinois House of
3 Representatives are pleased to recognize milestone events in
4 the lives of the citizens of the State of Illinois; and
5 WHEREAS, It has come to our attention that Helen McCarthy
6 is stepping down from her duties as Director of the Childcare
7 Network of Evanston this year; and
8 WHEREAS, Helen McCarthy received her Master's Degree from
9 the University of Chicago School of Social Service
10 Administration in 1975; she has managed social service
11 programs that have focused on family support for the past 25
12 years; and
13 WHEREAS, Helen McCarthy started her career in public
14 health with the City of Evanston and became the Director of
15 Health and Human Services for the City during the 1980s; and
16 WHEREAS, Helen McCarthy has been associated with the
17 Childcare Network of Evanston for the past nine years; she
18 has been committed to improving the quality of child care for
19 low income families; and
20 WHEREAS, The Board of Directors of the Childcare Network
21 of Evanston will honor Helen McCarthy at an event on March
22 26, 2001 for her many years of dedicated service to the
23 Evanston early childhood community; therefore, be it
24 RESOLVED, BY THE HOUSE OF REPRESENTATIVES OF THE
25 NINETY-SECOND GENERAL ASSEMBLY OF THE STATE OF ILLINOIS, that
26 we congratulate Helen McCarthy for her dedication as Director
27 of the Childcare Network of Evanston and for her many years
28 of service to the Evanston early childhood community, and we
29 wish her well in all of her future endeavors; and be it
30 further

1 RESOLVED, That a suitable copy of this resolution be
2 presented to Helen McCarthy as an expression of our esteem.
